About Us

About Our Charity

After years of helping animals in the townships, Jillian and Vanessa Cunningham formally started the non-profit Township Animal Rescue (NPO 039-758) in 2004. Township Animal Rescue has since expanded to a small team of people dedicated to helping rescue and treat vulnerable animals. We rely entirely on donations for our work. We operate in the Helderberg region of the Western Cape.

Donations are vital as they are used for vaccinations, de-worming, de-fleaing, food, special diets, dipping, injections, medications and operations. The animals that they help do not have access to the basics of food, water or shelter from the elements, and are often found in a pitiful condition, suffering from malnutrition, parasite infestation, disease and/or injury, or worse, have been willfully neglected and abused. 100% of all donations received are used for the benefit of the animals.

Adopt & Foster

If you are interested in adopting, follow the link to find out more. Fostering is also a wonderful way for you to help animals in need – allowing us to rescue more animals and saving the lives of animals who we could otherwise not help.
